And Why It Matters.

On Monday, January 20th, 2025 J.D Vance was sworn into office as the
50th Vice president of the United States of America. Many on the right
celebrated this supposed victory as a “win for the republican party.” But
I think republicans should take a moment and sit back to analyze the
chessboard. Who is really moving the piece that is JD Vance?

It may sound dehumanizing to talk about people as chess pieces but when it
comes down to it anyone can be a pawn. I wouldn’t go as far as saying
Vance does not think for himself or he is some kind of robot but I will be
bold enough to claim he is simply a creation. There are multiple facets to
the illusion that is JD Vance but for the sake of some people who are
new I’ll start small.

Firstly it is abundantly clear that the right is trying to
push Vance for republican candidate in 2028. Charlie Kirk the founder
and President of Turning Point U.S.A said, “JD Vance is a guiding light
for future conservative leaders.” Kevin Roberts of the Heritage
Foundation which is by far one of the largest right wing think tanks in
D.C said, “Vance is absolutely going to be one of our leaders if not the
leader of our movement.” Even Trump himself has credited JD to taking
up the mantle after him. So we have the most influential and highest
echelons of the right wing praising Vance and pushing him for 2028
even though he is fairly new to this space as he just became a senator
only back in January of 2023.

That being said, why should Vance deserve not only the support of republicans but especially Trump loyalists for the ticket? In an interview with Charlie Rose for his book
Hillbilly Elegy back in 2016 he said, “I’m a ‘Never Trump’ guy I never
liked him.” Now we’ve seen many people who are currently MAGA and
individuals who currently work in the administration, but who have made
comments like this in the past. Vance has made many comments and jabs
at Trump over the years saying “I can’t stomach him” to he’s “America’s
Hitler.” These comments, while in my opinion making him unfit to be
Trump’s running mate, we still have to look deeper into Vance’s story to
see what he always thought.

Now I think it’s only fair to go back to the beginning of Vance’s career, not necessarily his early life but how he got started in politics and who got him there. JD Vance at this time known as JD Hamel joined the U.S marine corps and served for four years and was
only deployed to Iraq for about six months in 2005, never seeing
combat. He was simply a military journalist. In 2007 he left the service
to go to Ohio State University where he graduated in 2009 with a
Bachelor of Arts degree. In 2010 he attended Yale Law School where he
was awarded the position at The Yale Law Journal. At this time where he
was not only writing ‘Hillbilly Elegy’ he was also writing for David
Frum who was formerly a neoconservative speechwriter for George W.
Bush. While writing for Frum’s column one of the articles he published
was how he supported the Iraq War stating, “War will always be a grisly
business. I’m not a peacenik, and I supported the Iraq invasion on the merits.”

Something else very interesting was that he was in favor of
mass migration saying, “Border security is a good start, but if we plan to
control the border, then we must also plan to massively increase the
number of legal immigrants allowed into this country.” Does this have
any semblance of being right wing let alone good for America? Now
David Frum mentoring him this entire time not only gave him a job at
his column but he also predicted him becoming president because, “His
superpower is his ability to connect with the white working class,
because of his story about Appalachia.”

So Vance is clearly from an early point in his career being groomed into becoming a figurehead for the right wing. At this point though all we know about him is that he’s
clearly a neocon and he served in the military. A turning point in Vance’s
career was in 2011 when Peter Theil a transhumanist and one of the 20
founding members of Paypal and Palantir co owner visited Yale and
developed a rapport with Vance. It was after he graduated Yale in 2013
that he went and worked for Mithril Capital as a venture capitalist. This
company was co-founded by Peter Theil. Now before Vance went and
started his own Venture Capitalist firm he left working for Theil and got
a job in a biotech company (Circuit Therapeutics) in San Francisco.
What’s interesting was in an interview the CEO Frederick Moll says the
only reason he hired Vance was because he was doing a favor for Peter
Theil.

In 2019 he co-founded the venture capital firm Narya Capital
which was funded and backed by not just Peter Theil but Eric Schmitt and Marc Andreassan, two prominent members of Silicon Valley. What is so fascinating about this is that a veteran who attended law school on the east coast somehow ends up working at a biotech firm and in venture capitalist companies on the west coast. But it all makes sense when you
look a little closer and see that Theil and Frum were grooming him from
an early point in his career to get into politics. He did very little of this
on his own accord and without the backing of Theil. They believed in
Vance because he has this unique story about being raised by his
Meemaw and coming from the white working class in Appalachia. His
childhood was marked by abuse and poverty and yet even though his
mother dealt with addiction and he comes from humble beginnings, they
saw their future candidate in the making. But once again even though he
is clearly on the path for a career in politics he runs into an issue. He
isn’t pro Trump.

This was a major setback at the time because in 2016
Vance took an insane gamble taking an anti trump stance and at this
point Trump is more popular than ever. In 2017 Vance has a meeting
with Frum and they’re plotting how to bounce back after Trump wins the
election. Now fast forward a bit to 2021 and Vance announces he’s
running for Senate in Ohio and Peter Theil not only gives Vance 15
million dollars through a super pac but arranges a meeting with him,
Vance, and Trump at Mara Lago and this secures Trump’s endorsement
for Vance and he wins the election in 2022. Two years later Musk and
Thiel call up Trump and say he needs to pick him as the Vice president in the upcoming election.

Now interesting enough Tucker Carlson spoke
to Trump about who he will choose as his VP and said he believed that if
Trump picked a “neocon” as his running mate that the intelligence
agencies would have motivation to assassinate him to get their pick. A
very odd thing to say at the least. So now we have Peter Theil, a CIA
contractor and FBI informant who has a history of not only spying on
Americans but working for multiple intelligence agencies to gather
information to keep in a database using AI software. Then Elon Musk
who is a defense contractor and was a member of the Paypal mafia along
with Theil and the richest man in the world pushing Vance. So they are
all lobbying for Vance saying to Trump that if he doesn’t pick him the
intelligence agencies will come after him. You would have to be either
absurd or just plain stupid to not draw the connection and see that Peter
Thiel is the intelligence network, he is the CIA.

Do you finally see it coming full circle? Vance is a pawn, and he has been groomed and
pushed his entire life to become president by neocons, by Silicon Valley,
and ultimately by the intelligence community. The first thing he said he
wanted to do when he was interviewed at the RNC was that we needed
to bomb Iran which tracks with that he was mentored by the man who
helped get us into the Middle East in the first place. He’s clearly always
been a neocon and countersignaled true right wing politics.
Vance was never MAGA and he is not truly MAGA today. Trump said
in 2015 “I am your voice.” Vance is not the voice of the American people, he is the voice of Tech oligarchs and a neoconservative movement that wants the destruction of American sovereignty. He does not deserve to receive the torch from Trump and lead the right wing. We need something better than this. Heritage Americans deserve a right
wing that is not lying to them, it deserves something uncolored by evil
and something that puts them first.
